“Deja Te Conecto” by Zoé, English translation of lyrics

“Let Me Connect You”
Style: Alternative/psychedelic rock, trippy music video.
Country: Mexico
Listen: YouTube

Translation:

No me pidas que llore por ti,
Alguna vez te vi sometido,
Tus ojos caen y flotan en la obscuridad,
Alumbrame, que estoy bien perdido.

Do not ask me to cry for you,
At one point I saw you submerged,
Your eyes fall and float in the darkness,
Light my way, because I am completely lost.

Y fue una vez,
Sí, sólo una vez
Que te dije la verdad.

And it was one time,
Yes, just one time,
That I told you the truth.

Sí, sólo una vez,
Hinchado en alcohol,
Perdido en la noche,
Soñando con volver, con volver.

Yes, just one time,
Bloated on alcohol,
Lost in the night,
Dreaming of returning, of returning.

Y sólo quiero que me des
Un poco de sinceridad.

(x2)

And I only want you to give me
A little sincerity.
(x2)

Déjame verte caer,
Déjame entrar en tus sueños,
No, no, no es cierto que
Robaste el grito final.
El que está en la orilla del viento, no,
Deja me conecto.

(x2; x4)

Let me see you fall,
Let me enter (into) your dreams,
It is not, not, not true that
You stole the final scream.
The one (that is) on the edge of the wind, no,
Let me connect.
(x2; x4)

[Repeat from the beginning]

Translation Notes:

Alguna vez te vi sometido
At one point I saw you submerged
At one time/occasion I saw you submerged

Alumbrame, que estoy bien perdido
Light my way, because I am completely lost.
lit. illuminate me, because I am completely lost.

alumbrar = to light up, to illuminate

In this case, que indicates that an explanation follows.
mira que = see that
porque = because

bien + adjective = completely + adj; perfectly + adj

Hinchado en alcohol
Bloated on alcohol

hinchado [adj] from hinchar [verb] = swell, inflate, bloat

Soñando con volver
Dreaming of returning
lit. dreaming with returning

con = with
sin (Spanish) = sans (French; borrowed into English) = without

Deja me conecto
Let me connect
Leave me, let me, allow me so I can connect myself

dejar [verb] = to leave, to allow; to let go of; to drop, to put down

Do not mistake with French déjà (already, previously, before) as in déjà vu (already seen).
