Lyrics Translation:
Me despedí, pero te mentí,
No me quería alejar.
Disimulé, me aguanté,
Pero es que ya no puedo más.
I said my farewell, but I lied,
I didn’t want to distance myself.
I pretended, I bore it,
But it’s just that I can’t take it anymore.
Quise borrarte, olvidarte,
Pero te vuelvo a recordar.
Todos los días salgo a caminar,
Hago mil cosas pa’ no pensar.
I wanted to erase you, forget you,
But I keep remembering you.
Every day I go out walking,
I do a thousand things to avoid thinking.
Me lleno de adornos,
Sufro de trastornos,
Siempre te quiero llamar.
No quiero nada, nada, nada
Y es que soy tan complicada.
I cover myself in adornments,
I suffer from mental disorders,
I always want to call you.
I don’t want anything, anything, anything
And it’s just that I’m so complicated.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that wormed into me and took off like a bullet.
It is contagious and it demands you.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that set into me like a bullet,
That chokes me and that kills me.
Everything would be different if you loved me.
Debo frenar
Porque no puedo más,
Me duele todo.
I need to brake
Because I can’t anymore,
Everything hurts.
No quiero nada, nada, nada
Y es que soy tan obstinada.
This is what the psychiatrist told me.
I know that it’s better for me to forget your face.
I don’t want anything, anything, anything
And it’s just that I’m so stubborn.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that wormed into me and took off like a bullet.
It is contagious and it demands you.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that set into me like a bullet,
That chokes me and that kills me.
Everything would be different if you loved me.
Si tú me quisieras yo dejaba todo,
Ya no iría a terapia,
Sé que te perdono,
Con tú pelo negro tejería un cuento,
Yo quiero vivir contigo este momento.
If you loved me I would leave it all,
I would stop going to therapy,
I know that I forgive you,
With your black hair I’d weave a story,
I want to live with you in this moment.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that wormed into me and took off like a bullet.
It is contagious and it demands you.
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that set into me like a bullet,
That chokes me and that kills me.
Everything would be different if you (f*cking) loved me.
Translation Notes:
I saw a few translations of this song but they were incomplete and shorter: lyricstranslate, musixmatch.
Quise borrarte, olvidarte,
Pero [te vuelvo] {a} recordar.
I wanted to erase you, forget you,
But I keep remembering you.
But [I return] {to} remember [you].
[Todos los días] salgo {a caminar},
Hago mil cosas <pa’> no pensar.
Every day I go out walking,
I do a thousand things to avoid thinking.
[All the days] I go out {to walk},
I do a thousand things <to> not think.
pa’ is short for para in casual Mexican Spanish.
No quiero nada, nada, nada
I don’t want anything, anything, anything
I don’t want nothing, nothing, nothing
In Spanish, double negatives are fine and act to reinforce the negative. In English, they can reinforce the negative or cancel it out, depending on the tone. “I don’t want NOTHING” (reinforced negative) versus “I don’t want nothing…” (I want something).
Ay, ay, ay [de mí]
[De este amor] que {se metió} y que {se dispara}
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that {wormed into me} and {took off like a bullet}
Ay, ay, ay [of me]
[Of this love] that {got inside} and that {shoots/fires itself}
The word “bullet” isn’t in these Spanish lines but the verb disparar (to shoot, to fire) is typically used with a bullet so I added it to clarify the imagery. Similarly, the verb “wormed” doesn’t need to be used but passive voice “se metió” suggests that imagery. The love was not “let in”, but rather it “got in”. The lyrics suggest a change in speed, of something starting slow and suddenly taking off.
“Ay de mí” is an idiomatic phrase that means “poor me” or “woe is me”.
Debo frenar
Porque no puedo {más},
[Me] duele todo.
I need to brake
Because I can’t {anymore},
Everything hurts [me].
The verb frenar means to break, as in hitting the brakes on a car. She knows that she shouldn’t keep going down this path and that she needs to stop obsessing over this guy.
Ay, ay, ay de mí,
De este amor que se me incrusta {como bala}
Oh, oh, oh poor me,
This poor love that set into me {like a bullet}
The verb incrustar means “to incrust, to graft, to inlay, to set into”. The love has been set into her like a precious stone is inlaid into a ring, or like a bullet got stuck in her.
