Style: Indie/alternative. Love song with drums and great vocals about finding love and joy. I’m so happy for Carla Morrison. She’s clearly in a good place. Compare this to her 2012 emo single, “Dejenme Llorar” (Everybody Let Me Cry). Her happiness now is so beautiful.

She is saying that she understands her life’s journey now that she found her true love.

You delight so much in me.
She is saying that she feels that she has accomplished a great feat by finding her lover. Her verses “manifesting” is I think a reference to the semi-autobiographical nature of her songs and her early career/life struggles. For example, in her first single from 2009, “Esta Soledad” (This Loneliness), she sings about being alone and working through it:

Claro que sí, caminando,
Con lágrimas derramando.I find myself here, walking.
Thank God, enduring.
Of course (yes), walking,
With tears spilling over.
A lot of her early songs were about wanting love and feeling love, but often had a melancholy tone to them, like the relationship wasn’t quite right. I didn’t know details of her life, but her songs left the impression that her feelings and desire for commitment were not always reciprocated.
Her new fame was also a double-edged sword. Per a Rolling Stone article:
She didn’t quite have the words for it at the time, but Morrison was struggling with depression. Not long after Déjenme Llorar started climbing the charts, the singer found herself dealing with an influx of unwanted attention. She was grateful to have an audience, but along with it came tabloid headlines and questions about her tattoos, her weight, her talent. She told herself that it didn’t hurt, but little by little, she began closing herself off, feeling less and less of the pain until she felt hardly anything at all.

Now in her 2022 album, El Renacimiento (The Rebirth), her songs are much happier. She sounds genuinely at ease and fulfilled in this relationship and with her life in general.

She is saying that she feels secure in this relationship. She sees eternity in their eyes, meaning she sees no end to the relationship. She has found forever love. She expands on this in Contigo (With You), another song in this album:

Compare this to her 2012 album and particularly “Hasta La Piel” (Down to my Skin), a song where she is in so much love but also so afraid of losing the relationship, saying she feels tan débil sin ti (so weak without you).
Me devolviste la flor
Que alguien un día me robó.
You returned my flower
That someone one day robbed from me.
This refers to the virginity/purity/innocence flower metaphor that some Latina women hear from their mothers. The flower is a symbol of a woman’s purity and goodness, and you’re supposed to protect it. Someone took Carla’s innocence (in whichever way she means that) and she feels that she has it back now. It is a strong statement about the change in her mental state, and how this relationship feels like it is healing past trauma, allowing her to start fresh.
The flower metaphor is also featured in the soap opera-like comedy television series Jane the Virgin (2014-2019).
I first heard of Carla Morrison when she released her 2012 emo rock album. Her voice is amazing, but she was often so sad. To see her release this 2022 album, and dance around in a wedding dress in this song’s music video, singing about how “delicious” it is to meet her lover and how she sees eternity in his eyes… I’m just so damn happy for her. I keep playing this song on repeat. Her happiness is contagious.
